Properties of Diphyl KT

General chemical and physical properties

Diphyl KT is a synthetic, organic heat transfer fluid for use over a wide temperature range.

The clear, colourless heat transfer fluid consists of mixtures of isomeric benzyl toluenes and is noted in particular for the following properties:

·         high thermal stability

·         low viscosity

·         good heat transfer properties

·         low odour

·         good biodegradability

·         possibility of reprocessing

Because Diphyl KT can also be readily pumped even at lower temperatures, it is equally suitable for use in combined heating and cooling systems.

Diphyl KT is virtually insoluble in water and does not react at all with it. The concentration of contaminants, such as organically bound chlorine or sulphur,
are well below 10 mg/kg.

Diphyl KT is not classed as a dangerous substance and is therefore not subject to labelling (for further details, see the DIN safety data sheet). The numerous
applications of Diphyl KT include heating and cooling processes, the chemical
and petrochemical industry and individual heating systems in the field of plastics
and rubber processing.
